Jakarta, The Doctoral Program in Economics (PDIE) once again held a student dissertation defense by raising the strategic issue of maritime sector higher education policy. The dissertation defense was held on Monday, February 2, 2026.

The student who participated in the dissertation defense was Mudakir (NIM 221022306004) from the Public Policy concentration. The dissertation presented was themed “Implementation of Higher Education Policies of Other Ministries (PTKL)” This research highlights the effectiveness of PTKL policies in improving performance. The dissertation defense was led by Prof. Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian, MM, CIRR, CMA, CPM as the chief examiner. The promoter in this defense was Prof. Dr. Eleonora Sofilda, M.Si, with Dr. Syofriza Syofyan, ME as co-promoter. The examination team was also strengthened by Dr. Nirdukita Ratnawati, ME and Dr. Nuraini Chaniago as examiner members.

In his presentation, Mudakir outlined research findings demonstrating improved performance in the maritime higher education sector. The examiners provided several substantive inputs, both related to strengthening policy analysis and deepening the practical implications for human resource management in maritime universities.

The session was attended by Dr. Firdayetti, who systematically recorded the entire proceedings. The dissertation session reflects PDIE’s commitment to promoting applicable public policy research relevant to national development needs, particularly in strengthening the quality of maritime higher education in Indonesia.
